St Paul’s Court, in Burton, has had serious heating problems within the sheltered housing complex which has led to the radiators and pipes pumping heat out through the housing during the 30C heatwave. Doris Lonsdale, 74, who suffers from a chronic lung condition, she says the intense heat left her struggling to breathe. “My radiators haven’t been changed since I moved here nine years ago and you can’t turn them up, down, or off. "I'd previously been able to turn some of my radiators off, but recently they've been stuck on all the time, pumping out heat."
