NewsPensioners from throughout the country converged on Colombo today to protest against the Government's alleged inaction regarding several pressing issues faced by pensioners. The demands included calls for the Government to fix pension anomalies that had been in existence for 10 years, and to raise pensions in line with Government salary increases. The protestors marched from Colombo Fort towards the Presidential Secretariat, at which point they were met by police barricades. Pix by Indika Handuwala
