Like the writer, I was also declared as not eligible for BPR (Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat) even though I am a pensioner in the B40 group. I used to receive Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BRIM). I did not receive the aid for 2019 and 2020 despite filing multiple appeals with the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN) office in Teluk Intan. To be eligible for BPN, I either have to sell my shares or the company must be wound up. I wrote a letter to our prime minister to ask about the discrepancies in deciding who gets the cash aid.
