University of Pennsylvania swimmer Leah Thomas won the 100-meter and 200-meter freestyle races against Harvard on Saturday. The victory came a few days after the NCAA updated its transgender participation policy and how it was determined on a sport-by-sport basis. In the 200m race, Thomas won 1: 47.08 and second place finisher won 1: 48.44. “Under the new NCAA policy announced on Wednesday, nothing prevents us from racing in the NCAA Championship in March. Next Saturday, Thomas won the 200-meter freestyle at 1:41:93, setting the fastest time for a woman in the country.
