A little blue penguin/kororā has been rescued from the Wellington International Airport runway, after being spotted by a pilot. The airport runway, which sits right on the rocky coast of the city, was brought to a standstill briefly earlier this month as staff rushed out to collect and help the flightless bird. The little penguin was looking to get some air when he dashed onto the runway. (Instagram)Photos of the kororā during the incident show it waddling along the concrete, before an airport staff member was able to get it into a car.
