MANILA, Philippines — The year-long suspension of all four commissioners of the Energy Regulatory Commission would mean that all pending power service applications would remain unsolved, ERC Chair Agnes Devanadera said. ERC commissioners Gloria Yap-Taruc, Alfredo Non, Josefina Patricia Magpale-Asirit and Geronimo Sta. The suspended commissioners cannot be replaced as there are no assistant commissioners. A total of 606 applications are pending in Metro Manila and in the provinces, according to the ERC chief. Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said that the Office of the Executive Secretary is considering dismissing the four ERC commissioners and appointing their replacements.
