The lifeboat station will celebrate its anniversary on Monday, March 4, with a series of events in Penarth. The RNLI was established in March 1824 and their lifeboats have saved over 143,500 lives. At 2.45 pm, in honour of the past volunteers, the crew will haul both the D-Class and Atlantic 85 B-Class boats through the town centre. Nicholas White, RNLI Volunteer said: “We are remembering … Our volunteers, who we are so grateful to, for giving their time and commitment over the past 200 years. The RNLI is committed to welcoming future lifesavers and supporters who will help the charity achieve its mission of saving every person in need.
