Penarth Lawn Tennis Club volunteers spent a year raising the cash for Velindre Hospital with a host of events, sponsored challenges, and fundraising stalls. “We’re delighted to be helping the MNDA to help people in south Wales who are living with this terrible condition,” a club spokesperson said. “We’re looking forward to the cub’s events over the coming year.”The club raised over £15,000 for cancer charity (Image: Penarth Lawn Tennis Club)Last year’s total of £15,000 was raised through events including a picnic, a social tennis tournament and some high-profile sponsored events. It included the club's street food festival. Club events have also raised £7,000 for a charity helping civilians caught up in the Ukraine war and £2,000 for the Marie Curie hospice in Penarth.
