GEORGE TOWN: A Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) contractor carrying out maintenance work at Jalan Burma here was killed in a hit-and-run incident early this morning. Omar Osman, 40, died instantly due to serious head injuries in the 1.30am incident. “When the car arrived at Jalan Burma, the driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a cone and a steel signboard. “The driver is also believed to have rammed into the TM contractor who was carrying out maintenance work in the middle of the road. “The impact of the crash caused the TM contractor to sustain serious head injuries and he died at the scene,” he added.
