GEORGE TOWN: The Penang state government plans to table a motion to limit the tenure of its Chief Minister to two terms. Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow (pic) said the move was among the first of Pakatan Harapan’s 68 promises that the state wants to implement if the coalition successfully secured a two-third majority in the general election. “The two-third majority that was given to the new government would allow us to make amendments to the state constitution. “We are targetting the November budget state assembly sitting for the proposed amendment for the constitution to be made,” he told a press conference in Komtar here Wednesday (May 23). Chow also announced that Komtar assemblyman Teh Lai Heng will serve as the political secretary to the Penang Chief Minister.
