GEORGE TOWN: The flash floods that hit Penang on Friday have killed a 30-year-old factory worker. The body of Noor Afidah Yajunas was found in a river in Bukit Jambul about 20 hours after she was washed away by floodwaters. State Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the body was discovered at 7.45am on Saturday. "We couldn't do anything because the current was so powerful," said motorcyclist V. Ramakrishnan, 57, who witnessed the incident. The body was sent to the Penang Hospital for a post-mortem.
