Penang flood victims in desperate need of food and drinking water


KUALA LUMPUR: Jalan P. Ramlee flood victims said they are in need of food and drinking water. Victim, Sophian Mohd Zain, 42, said flood waters had receded since 11am, but what is more important is the supply food to the area. Sophian, who is also the Penang Surplus Welfare Society president, said not only the belongings of the victims were washed away by flood waters, but existing stockpiled of food had also gone. “We started to distribute nasi bungkus and waters to the victims since yesterday. “Rain stopped and water receded around 10pm.
