Pellet-riddled body of J&K boy found, protests ensue


SRINAGAR: An 11-year-old boy was killed allegedly in clashes with security forces on Friday at Theed Harwan, on the outskirts of the summer capital. His pellet-ridden body was found late on Friday night, triggering massive protests in the area on Saturday .Villagers alleged that the bo , Nasir Shafiq Qazi, had gone missing on Friday evening after protesters were chased by security forces. Several protesters hurled stones on security forces and tried to prevent the burial, demanding the culprits be booked and arrested.The forces fired tear gas munitions to disperse the stone-pelting mobs. Mean while, in a late night development, authorities restored Internet facilities besides mobile phone services of private telecom companies.The tense situation forced the authorities to impose curfew in Harwan. Police said it had begun to investigate and ascertain the causes of the boy's death.
