BUTTERWORTH: The price of food and drinks at all 24 Restoran Nasi Kandar Pelita branches nationwide will be cheaper by between 10 sen and 30 sen following the zero-rating of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) beginning today. The reduction in prices will see, among others, roti canai and teh tarik being sold cheaper than before at the restaurants. He said roti canai and teh tarik lovers had expressed disappointment due to the increase in prices following the implementation of the GST three years ago. Meanwhile, Sihabutheen also asked for cooperation from suppliers to also sell the goods to them with zero GST. “All Pelita branches received recognition from the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) for cleanliness,” he added.
