Peel Regional Police Chief Jennifer Evans is retiring, leaving many of the more than 2,000 police officers who call her boss, shocked and bewildered. Peel Police Chief Jennifer Evans was not without controversy. “Today, I notified the Police Services Board of my intent to retire,” stated the email, obtained by The Mississauga News. Brampton Mayor Linda Jeffrey, also a Police Services Board member, disagreed with the chief’s position. Friday morning, Evans was on hand for the ribbon cutting and official opening of the new Peel Regional Police headquarters and museum on Mississauga Road.
