In the news conference moderated by Dr. Francis Xavier Daniel Dimalanta of the Philippine Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, doctors appealed to senators to reject Senate Bill 2026. In an unprecedented move, pediatricians all over the country have joined the protest against the House and Senate versions of the measure, Dimalanta revealed. The organization noted that recent scientific research revealed that even children aged 15-16 years are not yet capable of making good decisions and mature judgment. Dimalanta said the PPS believes that positive parenting prevents misbehavior and developmentally immature brain does not make them criminally liable.
