A male struck by a car north of Yonge St. and Eglinton Ave. was sent to hospital with life-threatening injuries Sunday, Toronto police said. Several people called 911 to report a pedestrian thrown a significant distance after being hit by a car at about 6:30 p.m., said police. The incident happened at Yonge St. and Erskine Ave., near the North Toronto and Lytton Park areasParamedics said the male, whose age wasn’t immediately clear, was rushed to a local trauma centre. The driver remained at the scene, and no charges have been laid so far, said police. Yonge St. was closed in both directions while Toronto police investigated the crash.
