A man sustained serious injuries when he was hit by a commercial pickup truck in downtown Ottawa Friday morning. Shortly after 10:30 a.m. police said they received a call of a pedestrian in his 50s or 60s struck at Kent and Queen streets downtown. The man was taken to hospital with a head injury, which police said could be life-threatening. Roads are closed in the area.
