A pedestrian has serious to moderate injuries after he was hit by a car in Opunake on Saturday afternoon. The crash occurred at about 2.25pm outside the Taranaki town's library, where the driver of the car fled the scene, police say. The driver and the car have since been located by the police and are currently helping with enquiries.
