A special election Thursday in Montana’s lone Congressional district could play a key role in the ultimate fate of the Republican-led American Health Care Act, also known as Trumpcare. What the U.S. Senate does to the AHCA will ultimately have to pass back through the U.S. House of Representatives where Trumpcare barely passed earlier this month. That means potential changes to the legislation in the Senate such as not going along with the Medicaid rollback, need all the Republican House votes it can get. In Montana, the race is tightening between Democrat Rob Quist and Republican Greg Gianforte heading into Thursday’s special election for Montana’s only House seat. The two are vying for the seat vacated by U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke.
