Pattani residents raise funds to rebuild house for insurgency victim

Pattani Governor Weeranan Pengchan joined the party in front of the Yaring district office to help raise funds for Supranee Phetwirai, 65. Her house, which was also a grocery store, was burned down after a bomb was detonated in front of it on February 11. Supranee was left with only the clothes that she had worn to sleep. Her house had been attacked twice in less than two years, authorities said. After the tea party, Muslims and Buddhists joined a march in downtown Yaring to denounce violence, walking past various sites hit by insurgency attacks, including Supranee's house.
