This brings to over €840,000 now raised by the Pat Smullen Race Day & Curragh to Curragh Charity Cycle on behalf of Cancer Trials Ireland. Pat Smullen Race Day raises €240,000 for Cancer Trials IrelandThe 2024 renewal of the Pat Smullen Race Day on August 31 has raised €240,000 in aid of Cancer Trials IrelandNamed in honour of the nine-time champion jockey from Rhode, the race day played host to the Pat Smullen Cancer Trials Ireland Charity Race supported by the Breeze-Up Consigners Association, the Curragh to Curragh 100km charity cycle together with many more events and activities which raised funds for Cancer Trials Ireland, the leading cancer research trials organisation in Ireland. The Pat Smullen Race Day, together with the Curragh-to-Curragh charity cycle has now raised in excess of €840,000 for pancreatic cancer research in Ireland and supported the appointment in August 2024 of Professor Grainne O’Kane as the inaugural Pat Smullen Chair in Pancreatic Cancer at University College Dublin.
