The passengers had to be taken back to Nairobi on Tuesday evening due to poor weather in Kisumu. Passengers who spoke to The Standard spoke of tense and anxious moments after a composed pilot told them he was unable to land due to bad weather. Some of the passengers said the recent Ethiopian Airline plane crash that killed 157 passengers flickered in their minds as the plane made the detour to Nairobi. Stella Wanja, who had traveled to Nairobi for treatment said she was calm until when the plane started circling Lake Victoria.
