SUNDAY PUZZLE — Daniel Grinberg is one of our multisport constructors, a researcher and user experience designer who also earned a Ph.D. in film and media studies. This is only his second Times grid, and his Sunday debut, the culmination of much pandemic pondering and punnifying, if you read his notes. I like the theme, since it’s kind of quirky and rhythmic, but I really savored the fill today — so many fun little tangents and whimsies. It might surprise you to learn that the first name of the actress who played her has only appeared in the Times puzzle a couple of times before. I was sure that I had misspelled VIVIEN “Vivian” several times (that second spelling has been clued as “Vance of ‘I Love Lucy,’” if you were wondering).
