The partner of a Labour MP has been arrested on suspicion of spying for China, it has been reported. A second person is claimed to be the partner of a former Labour MP. Security Minister Dan Jarvis told the Commons: "I can confirm that this relates to China. Tory frontbencher Alex Burghart pressed Mr Jarvis, telling him: "Whilst we've been here, the BBC and the Guardian have reported that one of those arrested is the spouse of a sitting Labour MP, and that another is the spouse of a former Labour MP. The Labour MP's partner who was reportedly arrested did not have a pass to access the parliamentary estate, the Speaker said.
