Five houses in Scarborough's Birch Cliff neighbourhood were evacuated on Saturday morning after a home undergoing renovations partially collapsed, according to Toronto Fire. Shortly after firefighters arrived, the portion of the wall on the second floor also collapsed. "Now the second floor is unsupported." Currently a hamster is trapped on the second floor of the house, but there is no way for firefighters to get to it. A structural engineer with Toronto Building was called in to assess the extent of the damage.
