more-inTwo beams of the under-construction Moolampally-Pizhala bridge collapsed into the backwaters on Saturday. Reportedly, one of the workers who was on the bridge jumped into the waters and escaped unhurt. District Collector Mohammed Y. Safirulla and S. Sarma, MLA, visited the site of the accident. The bridge project is among the several being funded by Goshree Islands Development Authority. A member of the Kadamakkudy panchayat said the bridge construction was progressing apace and that work on the Moolampally end was almost complete and work on the Pizhala end was fast progressing.
