PHOTO | JEFF ANGOTEThe National Assembly on Thursday unanimously approved the appointment of Lady Justice Philomena Mbete Mwilu as the Deputy Chief Justice of the Republic of Kenya. House Speaker Justin Muturi is expected to forward her name to the President for appointment which will be followed by a swearing in ceremony at State House Nairobi. Lady Justice Mwilu is a graduate of the University of Nairobi who was admitted as an advocate of the High Court of Kenya in 1984. She worked as company secretary and headed a state corporation before being appointed as Judge of the High Court in 2007.
