NewsParliament has been adjourned till March 21 by Speaker Karu Jayasuriy due to heated arguments by Joint Opposition (JO) MPs. The Speaker was forced to adjourn Parliament as the arguments made it impossible for scheduled Parliamentary proceedings to continue. There have been heated exchanges in Parliament throughout this week. The protests also forced the Speaker to order Mahajana Eksath Peramuna (MEP) and JO Leader Dinesh Gunawardena be removed from Parliament. However, Gunawardena defied the order, leading to a Parliamentary vote to suspend him from Parliament for one week.
