It’s beginning to look a lot like 2017 at Rouge Beach Park, when the parking lot was covered with water that spilled over from the adjacent Rouge marsh. Most parking spots at Rouge Beach Park, at the east end of Lawrence Ave., were covered with water in recent days, due to elevated water levels in Lake Ontario. ( Jack Lakey for the Toronto Star )Back then, a reader complained that the parking lot at Rouge Beach Park, at the far east end of Lawrence Ave., was flooded. But the difference at Rouge Beach from 2017 is that the parking lot next to the marsh is closed until the water goes down. STATUS: Jaclyn Carlisle, a parks department spokesperson, confirmed that vehicle access to Rouge Beach parking was closed due to flooding.
