RIO DE JANEIRO — The parents of slain Brazilian councilwoman and human rights activist Marielle Franco demanded Friday that their daughter’s killers be identified and brought to justice. Franco and her driver, Anderson Pedro Gomes, were shot dead in Rio de Janeiro on March 14 while returning from an event focused on empowering young black women. “Unfortunately, we still don’t have the answers,” he said. “The answers we want from the authorities are to know who ordered the killing, who carried out the killing, and why they killed Marielle Franco.”Franco’s mother, Marinete da Silva, said her daughter was the victim of a “cruel and evil” execution. “Every day I ask myself why they killed my daughter.
