CAIRO – 29 October 2020: The Egyptian Public Prosecution on Wednesday ordered detaining parents who left their three-month old baby alone at home for several days until he died for 15 days over charges of premeditated murder. The incident took place in Greater Cairo’s Qalioubia when the father reported to police the death of his infant. Police found the baby in decomposition state when they rushed to the scene, but no signs of torture were reported. Minutes later, the father went to his work and remained there for nine days, thinking that his wife has returned and took care of her baby. Police examined phone conversations between the pair to find that the they cared nothing when they found out that the baby was left nine days alone without care.
