Parents’ nod sought for vaccination of grade 9-12 students

KARACHI: The Sindh government on Sunday decided to begin from Monday Covid-19 vaccination of students in classes 9-12 of schools and colleges across the province but linked it with a permission certificate from their parents. During a meeting chaired by Sindh Minister for Education Syed Sardar Ali Shah, it was decided to go ahead with the suggestion of the Health Department to launch the drive. “The world is returning to normalcy after vaccinating its people,” the minister said during the meeting. The meeting also decided to review schools’ registration, facilities they provided to the children and salaries to their staffers. All educational institutions are required to ensure 100 percent compliance with Covid-19 guidelines and random RT-PCR tests will be conducted by the Health Department “as and when required”.
