In 1956, when Goura Prasad Ghose produced Bhai Bhai, one of the biggest Odia hits, Parbati played the lead female protagonist. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who joined others in paying glowing tributes to the filmmaker, said, “I am deeply shocked at the passing away of veteran film personality Parbati Ghose. She was an icon and one of the greatest gifts to Odia cinema industry. She will always be remembered for her contribution to Odia cinema.”Odisha government announced a state funeral for Parbati Ghose.
