A police spokeswoman said they were called to the base of the Treble Cone ski-field after two people were injured during a bad paragliding landing. St John was notified just before midday and sent an ambulance from Wanaka. Treble Cone is a popular spot for paragliders during the summer months when the ski field is not open.
