Paraglider killed after hitting barrier on Christchurch's Port HillsJOHN KIRK-ANDERSON/FAIRFAX NZ A paraglider has died after crashing on the Port Hills above Christchurch, near the Christchurch Gondola. A paraglider has died after crashing into a road barrier in the hills above Christchurch. Emergency services went to the scene, near the top of the Christchurch Gondola, shortly after 11.30am. A Fire Service spokesman said they were called after a paraglider "hit a barrier near the gondola". Police said the paraglider crashed and died at the scene.
