A Papamoa man has been seriously burnt in a "fire incident" in the Western Bay of Plenty. St John were called to Papamoa Beach, east of Tauranga, around 6.45pm on Boxing Day. A 32-year-old man from Papamoa suffered serious burns. On Wednesday the man was in a stable but serious condition in the Intensive Care Unit, a hospital spokesperson said.
