It is also believed that the Youth Leader of the party in the State, Alhaji Baba Sani Sakali, has tendered his resignation as the party’s Youth Leader and also announced his defection to the All Progressive Congress party (APC) this Friday, a situation which has caused confusion and panic in the camp of the PDP. According to the statement, “The attention of the People’s Democratic Party has been drawn to the publication by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of the 2019 general election list of candidates”. It added that “The subject list has number 29, Alhaji Bala Bello Tinka as the Governorship candidate of Democratic People’s Party (DPP) whom hitherto was the Director-General of the 2019 Gombe state campaign of the party”. The statement further contained that, “This is a breach of section 10(1) and 58(1) of the People’s Democratic Party constitution (2017 as amended). In view of the foregoing, Alhaji Bala Bello has been relieved of his appointment as Director-General of the 2019 campaign with immediate effect”.
