Panic envelops Bandarban after turf war leaves 6 killed


The bodies were handed over to their family members after autopsies were conducted at Bandarban Sadar Hospital around 5:30 pm, according to hospital sources. A case has been filed against 20 people with Bandarban Sadar police station in this regard, said Shahidul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bandarban Sadar police station. Four organizations are allegedly involved in most of these clashes: Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti (PCJSS), Jana Samhati Samiti (Reformist-MN Larma), United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF) and UPDF (Ganatantrik). On April 17, Mong Sign Marma of the Mugh Party was shot dead in Kenaiju Para of Roangchhari upazila. On June 15, a man from Kuhalong Union in Bandarban was also shot dead.
