The plant has an annual production capacity of around five lakh units which will be later expanded. "With this plant, we expect to achieve 3-4% pricing advantage, can customise the products like floral design which sells in India and achieve supply chain efficiencies. Our price competitiveness will be better," said Sharma.The company at present imports refrigerator from Vietnam and Thailand. "We expect to achieve 5% market share in frost-free refrigerators by 2020 from 2% now," Sharma said.Panasonic currently manufactures air-conditioners, washing machines, televisions and small kitchen appliances in India. It has also shifted focus to inverter air-conditioners from this year in line with the change in market scenario.
