While there may be flashier, crazier, more headline-grabbing products on show at the 2019 CES, for me the quiet hero of the show was the Panasonic GZ2000 4K OLED TV. Perhaps because Panasonic only sells OLED TVs these days in the US via business to business channels (though consumers can buy them in Canada!! And this hardware improvement has delivered what seems to me at this point like a potentially game changing improvement to OLED picture quality. I should stress that Panasonic isn’t claiming that the GZ2000 can hit significantly higher peak brightness levels than other OLED TVs. Among its highlights are faster response to variances in brightness levels and contrast, and a speedier Dynamic LUT color system.
