In line with the international law, Panama has cut all ties with the self-proclaimed Polisario entity, SADR, the country’s foreign ministry said in a statement. “The Republic of Panama, prioritizing national interests and adhering to the core principles of its foreign policy, reaffirms its commitment to the objectives and values that underpin multilateralism. Panama “reiterates its commitment to dialogue and multilateral cooperation, in full compliance with a constructive foreign policy aimed at strengthening international peace and security,” the statement added. Panama is thus the latest in a series of Latin American countries that retracted recognition of the Polisario. Ecuador has also cut ties with the Polisario and the Brazilian ruling party urged the government to back the autonomy plan.
