Today marks one year since protesters besieged the legislature, which blocked lawmakers from entering to debate the now-withdrawn extradition bill, and police used tear gas to disperse the crowds. At the conference room where the panel meeting was held today, the opposition held up placards and chanted slogans in front of the podium. The panel chairwoman, Starry Lee Wai-king, ordered them to leave after her repeated warnings to not disrupt the meeting were ignored.
