Poultry owner Rosie Pirie, holding her awarding winning Buff Sussex hen, was busy on Thursday putting the finishing touches on her 54 entries for the Invercargill Poultry and Pigeon Show this weekend. It’ll take her three trips in a ute, with a canopy, to transport her geese, turkeys, guinea fowls and 13 breeds of chooks/hens to the Kennington Kennel Club Hall for the Invercargill Poultry and Pigeon Show on Saturday and Sunday. She will also sell poultry at this weekend’s show. “I’m scaling back, working out how many I can do ... I’m getting older.”Invercargill Poultry and Pigeon Club show secretary Ava Hunt said there were more than 400 entries for this weekend’s show, including some from Canterbury.
