RETIRED Major General Jovito Palparan Jr. who was convicted for the kidnapping of two University of the Philippines (UP) students, was transferred to the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) on Wednesday night, the Philippine Army said. Lt. Col. Louie Villanueva, Army spokesman, also said that with Palparan were two other convicted military officials — retired Lt. Col. Felipe Anotado Jr. and Staff Sgt. They were transported by the Army to the national penitentiary at 7:45 p.m.“They were turned over already to NBP. What is important is we already did our job of turning them over to NBP,” Villanueva said. A Bulacan court found Palparan, Anotado and Osorio guilty of kidnapping Karen Empeño and Sherlyn Cadapan in 2006.
