Police were called to the corner of Amberley Ave and Cascade Crescent in Palmerston North after reports of a car crashing into a pole at 10.30pm on Saturday. A Palmerston North driver has led police on an hour-long game of hide-and-seek after fleeing the scene of a late night crash. Emergency Services were called to the corner of Amberley Ave and Cascade Crescent, after receiving reports of a car crashing into a pole at 10.30pm on Saturday. All police found at the scene was a battered pole lying across Cascade Crescent, she said. Its driver was eventually found at 11.40pm, but police held off interviewing them or taking a statement until after they got examined by medical staff at Palmerston North Hospital.
