Two soldiers involved in a drug-fuelled night out in Palmerston North have had their convictions quashed in a rare Court Martial Appeal Court decision. The appeal court took the rare step of directing a judgment and finding an acquittal should be entered, after multiple breaches of the soldiers' rights. The original court martial judge was also found to have failed by not fairly balancing evidence in-cross examination.
