Palicte, 27, tipped the scale at 114.8 pounds while Martinez 114.4 during the formal weigh-in. The winner of the match will challenge reigning WBO super flyweight champion Donnie Nietes. The Bago City, Negros Occidental native’s all-Filipino showdown against Nietes on September 8 last year in Inglewood, California for the vacant WBO belt ended in a draw. Nietes scored a split decision win against Kazuto Ioka last December 31 in Macau to capture the vacant title.
