ofeed Al-Hasayneh, the Palestinian minister for public works and housing, delivered a speech during a press conference announcing the delivering of Gaza crossings - Screen shot of ONTVA side of ceremony of delivering administration of Gaza borders to Palestinian national government - Press photoA side of ceremony of delivering administration of Gaza borders to Palestinian national government - Press photoA side of ceremony of delivering administration of Gaza borders to Palestinian national government - Press photoCAIRO – 1 November 2017: The Palestinian authority started officially receiving the administrative affairs of Gaza borders on Wednesday, in accordance with the terms of the reconciliation deal reached in Cairo last month.Mofeed Al-Hasayneh, the Palestinian minister for public works and housing, delivered a speech during a press conference at Rafah border, the sole crossing point between Egypt and Gaza Strip, announcing reception of the crossing.In his speech, he announced that the Palestinian Authority's decision to cancel all illegal fees at Gaza Strip crossings.Al-Hasayneh further thanked Egyptian efforts, represented in the leadership and intelligence authorities in ending the decade-long political division in Palestine.The Egyptian-sponsored delivery of the borders comes as part of the reconciliation deal reached between both Palestinian political rivals last month in Cairo, which stipulated that the Palestinian government headed by Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah to fully assume Gaza responsibilities.The borders to be delivered are Rafah border, Karam Abu Salem crossing and Beit Hanoun crossing.Ahead of the conference, pictures of both Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and Palestinian president Abu Mazen were raised at the Rafah border crossing.
