A woman in her 50s is stabbed to death in the northern Arab town of Jadeidi-Makr, becoming the 111th murder victim in the Arab community this year. Police say officers haver detained the late woman’s husband over the suspected murder. Arab communities have seen a surge in violence in recent years, driven mainly by organized crime. Since the beginning of 2021, at least 111 people were killed in suspected homicides, according to the Abraham Initiatives nonprofit. 93 were Arab citizens of Israel, and another 18 were Palestinians, either from East Jerusalem or with Israeli residency.
